Reports of women's club work were a daily feature of the woman's page. In addition to the news briefs listed in the "Club Circles" section of "Social News of the Day," the woman's page regularly included feature-length articles on club work. Most recently, the City Beautiful Club's Clean-up and Paint-up Campaign had been the subject of daily coverage. For the transformation of women's "culture clubs" into progressive organizations, see Karen Blair's The Clubwoman As Feminist: True Womanhood Defined, 1868-1914.
