Sandy Madaris was born in Chattanooga, TN. Her father was a singer who performed with the Madaris Family Quartet on the same stage as the Oak Ridge Boys, The Statlers, Chuck Wagon Gang and The Jordanaires.

Sandy began singing professionally at age fourteen and at seventeen moved to Mobile, Alabama.  Her band "Hickory Wind" travelled the U.S. for seven years and attracted the attention of Willie Nelson and Jody Paine.

Sandy has since performed with various artists including Percy Sledge, Wet Willie and David Jaurequi, a guitarist featured in several David Lynch films.

Sandy is currently enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University where she is studying criminal psychology--an interest that arose out of her volunteer work in the Tennessee prison system.  She has also taken an active part in the anti-death-penalty movement in Tennessee.
